Forum Presentation at NSUC!

Interested in alternative education? On Sunday, January 6th at 11:30am, Jimmy Trevor will give a presentation on Sudbury Schools at the North Shore Unitarian Church. Sudbury is a model of education that enables children to pursue their own interests, develop strong social skills and expand their creativity. Jimmy has worked with other Sudbury schools and now aims to create a school of his own in the North Shore area.

Meeting at Be Market cafe on Saturday October 20

Today’s meeting went well. We had 10 people in attendance, we discussed how to get thungs started, and we even have a lead on a possible location for the school! Our next meeting is next week. Feel free to join us!

Announcing our first public meeting!

(Please note that while the meeting is being hosted by the church, the school itself is nonreligious. All are welcome!)

What:
We'll discuss the Sudbury concept, explain our plans for Riverwind, and answer questions from the audience. Childcare will not be provided, but all ages are welcome to attend.

Kids should be allowed to vote

Riverwind is focused on education. But in the meantime, we also care about youth rights in a more general sense. When you stop to think about it, children are a minority group, and they aren't allowed to vote. Isn't that a recipe for disaster? No wonder that the public school system is so ridiculous. If kids could vote, politicians would have to respond! See this video from the National Youth Rights Association:
